Born May 28, 1960 in Ecuador from a family of political activists, Nelly continues her family legacy as Program Director of the Long Beach Latino Civic Association.

Nelly A. Romero has been a resident of Long Beach, New York for over 25 years. Aside from helping walk-in clients with Disaster Case Management, distribution of food, translation of documents, interpretation, and supervision of LBLCA programs, Nelly is a working Artist, Art Instructor and member of the Long Beach Art League.  Using art as a medium to teach and empower community members, Nelly instructs her students to voice their opinions through artistic expression.

Along with having over 35 years of experience in the Arts, Nelly worked as a restaurant professional for over 22 years! Due to her management experience in the Food Industry, Nelly is designing a training recruitment program in Long Beach, to benefit the unemployed in acquiring and sustaining a job— while learning a new or existing trade.
